STEAM Saturdays are interactive, out-of-school workshops for 3rd-5th graders focused on topics related to science, technology, engineering, arts, and math. Workshops are offered on Saturday mornings with the support of local partner organizations, facilitators, and volunteers.
Recent STEAM programming has included units on creative expression and slam poetry, as well as earth and animal science. STEAM Saturdays expose students to STEM fields, encouraging them to imagine careers in a variety of STEM professions. Programming has also been known to incorporate field trips to partner organizations and performances. Each STEAM Saturday, students are provided hot breakfast and lunch.
