The Emily Krzyzewski Center offers academically-focused programs and preparation for college programs to students in grades K-12 in Durham County. Interested elementary schoolers can apply for (self-nominate) the Emily K Pioneer Scholars program, which is available for students in grades 1 though 8. Pioneer Scholars includes daily academic tutoring for 1st through 6th graders, as well as other supports to access extracurricular and leadership opportunities. To be eligible for Pioneer Scholars, students must be: 1) in school in Durham County; 2) meet the federal low income guidelines; 3) and be academically motivated (As/ 4s and Bs/ 3s) with family support.
