The Nasher Museum of Art at Duke University is a contemporary art museum located near Duke’s west campus. The museum has a strong commitment to promoting engagement with the visual arts among the community, including East Durham children and families. The Nasher is an active museum partner at Y.E. Smith Elementary Museum School. They offer in- and out-of-school enrichment opportunities to students and staff including field trips, curriculum materials, and student art exhibits. They also participate in EDCI community events and summer camps.

The Nasher encourages all families to attend Nasher Family Days offered four times a year at the museum from 12-4 p.m. On these days, families can enjoy live entertainment, create hands-on projects, and explore the exhibitions. Materials are in English and Spanish. The Nasher Museum provides a free shuttle bus for EDCI Zone children and caregivers to travel to and from the museum on Family Days. Pickup occurs at Y.E. Smith Elementary at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. on these days.

Everyone is welcome to visit The Nasher on Family Days and throughout the year.
