Duke Gardens is a 55-acre botanic garden at Duke University. Duke Gardens welcomes EDCI families to enjoy the beauty of this museum for plants.
Admission is free, and it is open from 8 a.m. to dusk (parking costs $2 per hour, free after 5 p.m. daily and before 1 p.m. on weekends).
The trees, flowers, vegetables, bamboo, ponds and other water features support a variety of native wildlife. Duke Gardens is accessible by GoDurham Route 6, the Bull City Connector, and various Duke campus bus routes. We host field trips, classes, camps, and free family events throughout the year. Duke Gardens is proud to be a museum partner at Y.E. Smith Elementary School and an EDCI partner.
